- Cloud Computing Services: Google Cloud Platform
- Functionality and Infrastructure Optimisation: Cloud Firestore, Firebase Legacy, MongoDB Atlas
- User Account Registration and Authentication: Firebase Authentication
- Website Hosting: Vercel, Render
- Invoicing & Billing: Razorpay
We may also share your personal information in connection with any merger, sale, financing, or acquisition of our business.
4. DO WE OFFER ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-BASED PRODUCTS?
As part of our Services, we offer products, features, or tools powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies ("AI Products").
We provide the AI Products through Google (Gemini API). Your input, output, and personal information will be shared with and processed by these AI Service Providers to enable your use of our AI Products.
Our AI Products are designed for the following functions:
- AI chat and tutoring (answering academic questions)
- Notes generation
- Practice question and test generation
- Natural language processing and text analysis
- Image analysis (e.g., analysing a photo of a question you upload)
How to Opt Out: AI-powered features are a core, integral part of Akalpaniya, and the Service cannot function without them. As such, there is no option to use the Service while opting out of AI processing. If you do not wish your data to be processed by these AI features, please discontinue use of the Service. You may delete your account and associated data at any time from your Profile Settings.
5. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice. No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymise such information.
6. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organisational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time. To opt out of marketing communications, reply 'STOP' or 'UNSUBSCRIBE' to any SMS we send, or contact us at support@akalpaniya.ai.
Account Information
To review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can log in to your account settings and update your user account.
Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases.
8. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track ('DNT') feature. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online.
9. COMPLIANCE WITH INDIA'S DIGITAL PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION ACT, 2023
Akalpaniya complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) of India. We collect and process personal data only for lawful purposes with your consent. You have the right to know what data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, and erase your data at any time. You may exercise these rights by deleting your account from Profile Settings or by contacting us at support@akalpaniya.ai.
10. COLLECTION OF DATA FROM MINORS
Akalpaniya is an educational platform intended for CBSE Class 9 and Class 10 students, many of whom are minors (individuals who have not completed eighteen (18) years of age, as defined under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).
By registering for or using Akalpaniya, you confirm that you are either at least 18 years of age, or that you are a minor using the Service with the knowledge and consent of your parent or legal guardian. In the case of a minor, the parent or legal guardian is deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to this Privacy Notice and our Terms and Conditions on the minor's behalf at the time of registration, and consent for the collection, processing, and retention of the minor's personal data is considered to be given by the parent or legal guardian.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. We do not direct targeted advertising at, or carry out behavioural tracking or monitoring of, any user we know to be a child.
If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, or you wish to review or request deletion of your child's data, please contact us at support@akalpaniya.ai and we will take appropriate steps to remove such data from our records.
11. GRIEVANCE OFFICER
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made thereunder, the name and contact details of the Grievance Officer are: Name: Manan Tiwari, Email: support@akalpaniya.ai. The Grievance Officer can be contacted for any complaints or concerns regarding the processing of your personal data. We will address your grievance within 30 days of receiving it.
12. SUBSCRIPTION PAYMENTS AND REFUND POLICY
Akalpaniya offers paid subscriptions processed through Razorpay. Subscription fees are charged on a monthly or annual basis. Refund requests made within 7 days of payment will be considered on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, contact us at support@akalpaniya.ai with your registered phone number and payment details. No refunds will be issued after 7 days of purchase.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated 'Revised' date at the top of this Privacy Notice. We encourage you to review this Privacy Notice frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
